Welcome to my gallery!
As an up-and-coming artist and lifelong equestrian - I have always been inspired by the beauty of the horse. My journey through the artistic realm began as a child spending endless hours sketching Breyer Horses with colored pencils in my room. I remember my barn friends and I used to create "barns" of horse drawings with names & stories for each drawing that we would then trade with each other like playing cards whenever we would get together... I'm talking sketch book after sketch book of horses and ponies in all colors and poses we could come up with. We would hole up in our trailer tackrooms at shows in the PNW and share our latest creations... and for me, that passion only grew and evolved as time went on!
In my early teens, I began experimenting with Acrylic paints - but it wasn't until my Sophomore year of Highschool when my brilliant art teacher, Mr. Smith, introduced me to Oil Paints that I really started to bloom. I remember him coming up to me the day we were about to start working with Oils and saying, "I think you're really going to like this..." and he was right! Once I found Oils, I never looked back. I love the flow, the ability to adjust and readjust your work as the piece evolves. Mr. Smith once said I'm "allergic to brush strokes" and working in this medium allow me to blend and smooth my lines away just as I please!
Now I am diving back into my passion after many years of letting it simmer on the back burner. While I still have my full-time job and my full barn of horses, I am going to be devoting more of my elusive "free time" to painting from here on out - and with that comes an exciting new development! For the first time ever, I am going to be offering canvas prints of my artwork. Each piece will have a limited number of orders available - and when they're gone they'll be gone for good! So if something catches your eye, don't wait to make it yours - because it may not be around tomorrow!
